Play Time for Blue Eyes

Turn sound on...wheeee!

Easter

Due to the flu epidemic our doctor asked us to stay home for 8 weeks. And after our neighbors and friends heard all the crying they asked us to stay home too. ha! Drake's 1st outing was to church on Easter Sunday. We had the pacifier in hand to maintain The Drakester. He did well and everyone was happy!

"For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well." Psalm 139:13-14

LOOK....I smile now

Phewwww....3 months have past and our little boy is beyond that nasty colic. We are getting smiles and chuckles that melt our heart.

DO I KNOW YOU?

Embarrassing Moments

I couldn't help myself!

I kid..I kid

There were some sweet moments too...when he slept.

3 months of blissfulness

On our way home!

The hospital stay lasted 4 days. We had several friends and family visit. Drake was very quiet and content those 1st few days. The nurses called it baby coma. Doesn't sound nice but they say pre-term babies are very tired and have to be forced to wake up. We had to rub Drake's little shoulder just to keep him alert enough to eat. Once they gave the all clear and we were packed in a hurry. I couldn't wait to introduce him to Tasha and Reese. From the picture you could see I was still swollen from the surgery...I wish you could have seen my feet! I could have sold tickets at as a side show. :-(

Don't they look excited?

2 days old

Yummy....fingers!

Twice, during the sonograms we saw Drake sucking on his fingers. This is a picture of him 20 minutes after birth.

4 months later

Finally, my 1st post after Drake was born. Drake was taken by c-section on January 31st. He weighed 7 lbs and 4 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long. The Lord blessed us with a healthy baby and we will always be humbled by his blessing. The assisting doctor made a joke during the delivery asking who had the red hair as Drake was being delivered. I laughed thinking he must be kidding. He wasn't- Drake has strawberry-blonde hair! Who would have guessed that? My Aunt Elaine said it comes from my Grandfather Harris side. Because, Drake was colicky for the 1st three months there was no time OR energy for posting. I hope to get caught up and keep you all updating by posting on this blog. Check back for more pics and videos! Here is a picture of Drake at birth. He looks bigger than 7 lbs, doesn't he?
